In Tashkent, doctors at the National Medical Center simultaneously performed two liver transplant operations.

The Center's press service noted that this is not the first such experience — parallel transplants have been successfully conducted here before. In total, 34 liver transplants were performed at the center in 2026.

The complex operations were carried out by a team of specialists led by Professor Azam Babajanov and Doctor of Medical Sciences Jasur Sobirov.

The donors were close relatives — a brother and sister. Currently, the recipients and donors are under medical supervision.

Previously, doctors at the National Children's Medical Center of Uzbekistan, together with Russian medics, conducted their first liver transplant on a 15-year-old teenager in the capital.
