Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the capital's development concept, addressing the city's rapid growth. Tashkent's population has exceeded 3.1 million, with projections indicating it could more than double by 2045. This necessitates a radical overhaul of approaches to construction, transport, and ecology.

The primary goal is to improve the urban environment. Plans include tripling green spaces in Tashkent and its surroundings to 25,000 hectares, increasing green area per capita from 3 to 6 square meters.

During the presentation, plans were approved to create new public parks in 9 city districts, totaling 134 hectares. The president emphasized that at least 30% of any construction project's area (approximately 400 hectares in total) must be allocated for greenery.

Out of 85 submitted projects covering nearly 2,700 hectares, a strict selection was conducted: 18 projects received approval for implementation; 12 projects were sent for optimization (review of floors and area); 54 projects were deemed conceptually underdeveloped and require complete revision.

Authorities officially abandon the practice of "spot" development on plots smaller than 1 hectare. Priority is given to comprehensive renovation of old districts and creating a unified architectural appearance.

To improve the city center's ecology, large industrial enterprises will be gradually relocated outside its limits. The expanded "Yangi avlod" special zone in Yangihayot district will serve as a hub for new eco-friendly production.

The implementation of approved projects is expected to yield: $1.5 billion in annual gross regional product growth; 3.5 trillion soums in additional budget revenue; 260,000 new jobs.

Funds from developers' infrastructure payments will be directed first to creating new parks, then to engineering networks. The president instructed to align all urbanization processes with public interests and environmental safety requirements.
