A military helicopter crashed into a fruit and vegetable market in central Iran, killing at least four people. The incident occurred on Tuesday during a training flight.
State media reported that the dead include the helicopter's pilot and co-pilot, as well as two civilians who were at the market at the time of the crash.
The aviation disaster took place in the city of Dorcheh, located about 330 kilometers south of Tehran. The area is in Isfahan province, which hosts a major airbase and a nuclear facility previously targeted during the Iran-Israel conflict.
The incident occurred less than a week after another aviation crash: an F-4 fighter jet crashed during night training near the city of Hamedan in western Iran. At that time, one pilot died, while the other managed to eject.
Iran regularly experiences aviation accidents, which experts link to limited access to spare parts due to international sanctions. As a result, the country continues to use outdated aircraft and helicopters.
