The Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection has issued an instruction to "Yerostigaz" JSC to refund 2.8 billion soms in unjustified payments to Angren Thermal Power Plant (TPP). The committee's information service reported this.

Following an appeal from Angren TPP, the Tashkent Regional Territorial Department conducted an investigation. It found that "Yerostigaz" JSC applied an inflated gas price of 265,536 soms instead of the set 135,969 soms in February-March 2024, resulting in the collection of approximately 2.8 billion soms in excess funds.

The Special Commission of the territorial department initiated a case against "Yerostigaz" JSC and decided to impose a financial penalty. The committee also issued an instruction for the refund of 2.8 billion soms and to prevent such incidents in the future.

The case is currently under judicial review.
