A major dry port project is planned in the Sergeli district of Tashkent with the participation of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). This will be DFC's first project in Uzbekistan.

Agreements were reached during a meeting between the head of Sergeli district, Davron Ismatov, and representatives of the American corporation. The negotiations took place as part of implementing agreements made during the Uzbek President's visit to the United States, according to the capital's administration.

The project involves establishing a dry port in collaboration with the First Dry Port Terminal located in the Sergeli district. Its launch is expected to enhance the capital's logistics capacity and expand foreign trade opportunities.

According to estimates from both sides, the initiative will contribute to increased economic activity and the creation of new jobs. Additionally, it is anticipated to boost direct shipments of domestic products to European countries and expand international trade turnover.
