The Israeli government and military leadership have held a series of meetings amid a potential military scenario involving U.S. strikes on Iran. This is reported by The Times of Israel, citing sources.
According to the publication, preparations intensified after U.S.-Iran nuclear talks, which U.S. officials assess as having little prospect.
One senior U.S. official called the February 17 meeting "pointless," while another stated that Tehran has until the end of the month to agree to a deal and receive a package of significant concessions.
U.S. sources also claim that U.S. President Donald Trump is allegedly close to making a decision on a large-scale military operation against Iran.
Against this backdrop, Israeli authorities have conducted consultations at all levels. According to official estimates, the likelihood of a U.S. military operation remains high, but it is still unknown whether a potential strike would be joint or carried out exclusively by U.S. forces.
"Timelines are shortening, and this pertains to military readiness. Ultimately, the decision will be made by one person," said an unnamed senior Israeli official, hinting at the U.S. president.
