Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the results of two-day talks with the Russian delegation in Geneva remain insufficient.

According to him, Ukraine is interested in concrete outcomes, but the progress achieved so far cannot be considered sufficient. Zelenskyy noted that military contacts were "serious and substantive," but sensitive political issues, including possible compromises and the prospect of a meeting between the two countries' leaders, have not been sufficiently addressed. Kyiv expects to hold the next round of talks in February.

The Ukrainian side paid particular attention to the humanitarian agenda—the exchange of prisoners of war and the release of civilians.

The president also emphasized the importance of participation by European countries—France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy—as well as Switzerland as the host.

Head of the Russian delegation Vladimir Medinsky described the consultations as difficult but businesslike, noting that a new round of talks could take place soon.

Head of the Ukrainian delegation Rustem Umerov reported that clarity has been achieved on a number of issues, but details are not yet disclosed.
