The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan announced that the commission investigating the AZAL plane crash will make every effort to complete its work as soon as possible.

"The final timeline for the investigation has not been determined, but the commission will exert all efforts to conclude it promptly," the ministry stated.

The Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) aircraft, operating a flight from Baku to Grozny, crashed on the morning of December 25, 2024, near Aktau in western Kazakhstan. The aircraft involved was an Embraer 190. According to the airline, there were 62 passengers and five crew members on board.

Per information from Kazakhstan's Emergency Situations Ministry, 29 people survived the crash. The Russian embassy clarified that among the survivors are nine Russian citizens. In total, based on passenger lists, there were 16 Russians on board.

Previously, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, following negotiations with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, stated that the parties agreed on further steps to address all issues arising from the AZAL plane crash.
