In Uzbekistan, passengers can now complete customs declarations through a mobile application. The electronic document automatically appears in the customs system, simplifying border control and reducing waiting times.
The changes are formalized in the updated Instructions on the Procedure for Filling Out Passenger Customs Declarations, registered by the Ministry of Justice.
The innovations also clarify rules for declaring goods belonging to individuals under 16 years old. In such cases, the declaration must include not only the item's name but also the owner's passport details or ID card. For the convenience of customs officers, the system allows for correcting technical errors directly during document processing.
Special attention is given to mobile devices: all gadgets imported into the country are now subject to mandatory declaration regardless of duty-free import limits. Exceptions include devices already registered in the system operator's database or purchased within Uzbekistan.
The system aims to expedite border processing and make the procedure more transparent and convenient for both citizens and customs officials.
