Uzbekistan's renewable energy sector is rapidly expanding. As of May 14, solar and wind power plants generated 4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, a 29% increase compared to the same period last year.

Solar plants contributed 2.315 billion kWh, while wind farms produced 1.685 billion kWh. Notably, on April 20, total generation stood at just 3 billion kWh.

The growth of green energy has already yielded tangible results: over 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas were saved, and approximately 2.3 million tons of harmful emissions were prevented.

Including hydropower, total clean electricity output since the beginning of the year reached 6.16 billion kWh. This saved about 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas and avoided over 3.4 million tons of pollutants.

This amount of energy could power 4.4 million households for nearly 4.5 months or cover the annual consumption of 1.6 million families.
