The administrative building of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, located in the Shaykhantakhur district, has been sold at auction for 196.6 billion soums. The bidding started at an initial price of 187.2 billion soums, lasted 10 minutes, and consisted of a single price offer. The winner was recognized as JSCB “Hamkorbank”.

The five-story building is situated at the intersection of Abdulla Qadiri and Abay streets. The total area of the building is 11,725 square meters, with an adjacent territory of 0.48 hectares. The facility is equipped with all utilities. The buyer must use the building in accordance with urban planning documents — for offices and services.

This is not the first privatization attempt. On December 16, the building was already put up for auction with an initial price of 130.3 billion soums. That auction lasted 1 hour 7 minutes, consisted of 8 steps, and was won by LLC “O‘zshahar qurilish invest” with a price of 182.2 billion soums.

As of November 26, 2024, the company “O‘zshahar qurilish invest” was 90% owned by the State Assets Management Agency and 10% by LLC “Qurilish Invest Development”. The agency did not respond to Kun.uz’s inquiry about when and at what price this company was privatized. The reasons for re-listing the building for auction are unknown.

Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Construction is moving to New Tashkent, where it will be housed in the same building as the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Water Resources.
