Uzbekistan's Ambassador Alisher Tukhtayev met with Pakistan's Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar to discuss cooperation in media and cinematography.

The focus was on a joint film project about the life of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur. The Uzbek side proposed a multi-part historical feature film, while the Pakistani side expressed readiness to produce a short film.

Minister Tarar stated: "We are working on a special documentary about Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's visit to Uzbekistan and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Pakistan. We are also ready to collaborate on a short film about Babur's life and work, covering his childhood, arrival in this region, and founding of his empire."

The parties agreed to organize an online meeting between officials from Uzbekistan's Ministry of Culture, Cinematography Agency, and Pakistan's Ministry of Information to begin work on the project.

Discussions also included joint TV projects, video clips, special reports, training courses, and media forums for journalists from both countries.

The initiative to send Pakistani bloggers and a creative delegation of media representatives to Uzbekistan to promote the country's economic, investment, and tourism potential was supported.

Notably, during the Uzbek president's state visit to Pakistan in February, the idea of establishing a Babur Garden in Islamabad as a symbol of friendship was proposed.
