On July 17, around 1:00 PM, three underage girls drowned in an artificial pond used for drip irrigation on the territory of the Mulla-Buloq farm in the Pakhtazor neighborhood of Mirzachul district, Jizzakh region. This was reported to UzNews.uz by the press secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office, Khayot Shamsutdinov.

The victims were identified as S.O., 17; O.A., 16; and Kh.K., 14. Preliminary reports indicate that the girls entered the pond to swim.

According to the forensic medical examination, the cause of death for all three was mechanical asphyxia due to water entering the respiratory tract.

The Mirzachul district prosecutor's office is currently conducting a pre-investigation check into the incident.
