FIFA released its updated world rankings on July 20, showing the Uzbekistan national team falling 10 spots to 60th place.
The decline is attributed to the team's poor performance under coach Fabio Cannavaro at the 2026 World Cup. Uzbekistan lost group stage matches to Colombia (1:3), Portugal (0:5), and DR Congo (1:3), as well as friendlies against the Netherlands (1:2) and Canada (0:2).
In the Asian zone, Uzbekistan also dropped to 7th place. Above them are Japan (17th), Iran (22nd), Australia (28th), South Korea (32nd), Saudi Arabia (58th), and Qatar (59th).
Spain became the new world number one, overtaking Argentina at the top of the rankings.
