A technopark for the production of agricultural drones, operator training, and provision of services to farmers is being established in the Fergana region of Uzbekistan, according to a report by AN Podrobno.uz.

The FSTU Aeroinjinering technopark project is being implemented jointly with a Chinese investor on the basis of Hongsheng Texnologik Rivojlantirish on one hectare of land in the "Eco City" industrial zone. The company will be able to import, produce, assemble, sell, store, service, and repair agrodrones and their components in Uzbekistan. In addition, it will train operators, upgrade their qualifications, and conduct certification.

Agrodrones will be permitted for monitoring crops, spraying fertilizers and plant protection products, analyzing the condition of agricultural land, and other tasks. The flight altitude of such devices must not exceed 30 meters. Only specialists with an operator certificate will be allowed to control them.

The technopark will also host testing grounds and laboratories, research and design centers, training facilities for operators, as well as service and logistics facilities. The Ministry of Agriculture has been tasked, together with other agencies, to develop rules for the production, registration, and certification of drones, as well as requirements for operator training and safe use.

Earlier, Uzbekistan tightened control over water consumption — the "Vodkhoznadzor" inspection received the right to use unmanned aerial vehicles for monitoring, and such activities will not be considered business inspections.
