The prospects of establishing a modern tramway network in New Tashkent, along with the development of its energy, heating, and utilities infrastructure, were thoroughly examined during high-level talks with representatives of major French companies. According to the «Dunyo» news agency, the meeting focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in large-scale urban development projects.

Reports indicate that the French delegation visiting Uzbekistan was led by Gérard Wolf, Special Envoy of the French Minister for Europe and and Foreign Affairs for Sustainable Cities and Transport. Negotiations held at the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade brought together executives from prominent French entities including Alstom, SUEZ, Veolia, EDF, MND, Dassault Systèmes, IVECO, and Wilmotte & Associés.

The parties discussed opportunities for channeling French investments and cutting-edge technologies into energy, transport, water supply, municipal services, digitalization, tourism, and architecture. Special emphasis was placed on upgrading urban infrastructure and improving the overall efficiency of public utilities within the newly planned metropolitan area.

The delegation reportedly visited the New Tashkent construction site to inspect potential areas for collaboration firsthand. Alongside the proposed tram system, discussions covered the development of advanced wastewater treatment facilities, modernization of district heating, integration of renewable energy sources, and the implementation of smart city technologies. The meetings concluded with a mutual interest in advancing joint investment initiatives.
