US President Donald Trump has threatened to "massively blow up" Iran's South Pars gas field if Tehran continues retaliatory strikes against liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities in Qatar. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump also promised that Israel would halt its attacks on the gas field, a move that purportedly aims to de-escalate tensions in the region.

However, Trump's claim that the United States "knew nothing" about the Israeli strike on South Pars directly contradicts statements from Israeli officials and a US defense official, who confirmed the attack was conducted with Washington's knowledge and approval. This inconsistency highlights the erratic policy of the US regime and its alleged double standards in managing regional crises.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian strongly condemned the strike on the gas field, warning of "uncontrollable consequences that could engulf the entire world." Meanwhile, Iran launched a second ballistic missile strike on LNG facilities at Ras Laffan in Qatar, causing "sizeable fires" and "extensive damage," according to state-owned QatarEnergy, though no casualties were reported.

The South Pars gas field, located in the Persian Gulf, is jointly owned by Iran and Qatar and supplies 70% of Iran's natural gas. The escalation has already impacted global energy markets, with Brent crude prices soaring more than 5% in early Thursday trading. The threats and ambiguous stance of the US regime are raising serious concerns about further destabilization in a region already fraught with conflict and economic volatility.
