In Istanbul, four suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a businessman whose body was discovered by a shepherd on October 17 last year in the Jondor district of Bukhara Region, Uzbekistan. The remains showed signs of stab wounds, were partially buried in soil, and were in an advanced state of decomposition. The victim's identity was confirmed through DNA comparison between samples sent from Uzbekistan and DNA from the businessman's children residing in Turkey.

It was established that the victim arrived in Uzbekistan on May 28, 2025, and his relatives reported him missing on June 3. The investigation traced the perpetrators through a car that passed by the crime scene. The vehicle had been rented by a compatriot of the victim living in Istanbul.

Luminol testing in the car's interior revealed blood traces matching the victim's samples. After the crime, the renter returned to Turkey and later sent an acquaintance to Uzbekistan to return the car to the rental company and conceal involvement in the incident.

During interrogation at the Istanbul Police Homicide Investigation Bureau, the main suspect confessed to the crime. According to his testimony, the motive was a financial dispute: the partners had planned to open a restaurant in Uzbekistan, but the deal fell through. The suspect demanded the return of his $20,000 investment, leading to a fight in the car that ended in murder. Accomplices moved the body from the highway into the forest and covered it with soil before leaving the country.

Currently, the four detainees have been brought to court, and the investigation is ongoing.
