The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has implemented measures to assist citizens transiting from Iran to Uzbekistan via Turkmenistan. According to the "Dunyo" news agency, Uzbekistan's embassy in Ashgabat is working closely with the MFA's headquarters and authorized organizations in Turkmenistan, while maintaining constant contact with Uzbekistan's embassy in Iran.

Embassy staff are meeting citizens at the Sarakhs border crossing between Turkmenistan and Iran. Transportation from Uzbekistan's embassy in Ashgabat has been mobilized.

Recall that on March 1, Uzbekistan's MFA issued recommendations for citizens in the region due to the escalating situation in the Middle East. The MFA also provided emergency and trust phone numbers for Uzbekistan's foreign missions in the region.

On Monday, the MFA advised Uzbek citizens to avoid travel to Middle Eastern countries. The Umrah program to Saudi Arabia has been suspended, with citizens being evacuated from Jeddah and Medina. Uzbek citizens in Israel were advised to remain vigilant and leave the country if possible.
