In Turkey's Balikesir province, 46-year-old Samarqand native Dilafruz Chuliyeva went missing on January 21. On March 2, a woman's body was found in a forest area, and based on clothing, it is suspected to be hers. Another Uzbek citizen has been detained as a suspect.

Chuliyeva had legal residence and work permits in Turkey, working in the Burhaniye district of Balikesir. On January 21, after getting off a bus, she lost contact. Her employers reported her missing to police on January 23.

Relatives learned of her disappearance on January 24 and contacted the Uzbek embassy and consulates in Turkey, as well as the foreign and interior ministries. During the investigation, a suspect named Ilyas was questioned, who stated he knew Chuliyeva but claimed she went to Istanbul.

The body found on March 2 has not been officially identified, but based on clothing, it is suspected to be Chuliyeva. In recent months, several tragic incidents involving Uzbek women have occurred in Turkey, such as the deaths of Durdona Hakimova and Sayyora Ergashaliyeva, which sparked public outcry. Official autopsy and DNA results are awaited to determine Dilafruz Chuliyeva's fate.
