In Tashkent, a construction company head attempted to bribe an official to approve a 12-story residential building constructed with safety violations. The suspect has been detained and faces up to 15 years in prison.

In the Yakkasaroy district of the capital, a private company manager completed construction of a multi-story residential building. However, an inspection revealed violations of fire safety and technical regulations, making official approval impossible.

To bypass legal procedures and obtain a positive conclusion through the electronic portal Nazorat.MS.UZ, the developer offered a bribe of $30,000 to an employee of the Tashkent City Emergency Situations Department. The funds were intended as payment for signing approval documents despite safety threats to future residents.

The department employee demonstrated integrity and promptly notified superiors of the illegal offer. As a result of a joint special operation by the State Security Service, the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Internal Security Directorate, and the Prosecutor General's Office Department, the developer was caught red-handed while transferring the full amount.

A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under Article 211, Part 3, Clause "a" ("Bribery on an especially large scale"). The court has sanctioned detention as a preventive measure. The investigation is ongoing to establish all circumstances of the incident.
