Across Uzbekistan, large-scale beautification events will take place on March 13-14 – these days have been declared a nationwide hashar (community cleanup).

According to the press service of the Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan, the event will be held under the slogan "Beautification of the country begins with the mahalla."

As part of the hashar, the following activities will be carried out:

• Cleaning up mahallas and courtyards of apartment buildings;
• Beautification of streets, alleys, shrines, and cemeteries;
• Repair of children's playgrounds;
• Treatment of trees and planting of new seedlings;
• Greening of areas under the "Yashil Makon" project;
• Assistance in improving housing conditions for citizens in need of social protection.

Organizers note that the hashar will be an important step in strengthening traditions of cleanliness and unity, and will also engage residents in jointly beautifying their mahallas.

It is recalled that active citizens of Uzbekistan will receive benefits for paying for government services and education for participating in the "Yashil Makon" project and other environmental initiatives.
