Uzbekistan's meteorological service, Uzgidromet, has issued a warning about potential mudslides and floods in the country's foothill and mountainous regions from June 9 to 12 due to expected rainfall.
According to forecasters, heavy precipitation could cause river levels to rise and trigger mudflows, posing a serious threat to local residents and tourists in these areas.
Uzgidromet urges residents of foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling on mountain roads to take increased precautions.
Additionally, rainwater accumulation may lead to flooding in some settlements. Safety measures are being coordinated with the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The public is advised to heed warnings, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay away from hazardous zones.
