Uzbekistan is set to launch a state registration system for medical and pharmaceutical personnel starting July 1, 2027. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the initiative during a meeting with healthcare sector employees, emphasizing that public health must be managed strictly by certified professionals under rigorous oversight.
The registration process will initially be voluntary from mid-2027 until January 2030, after which it will become mandatory for all practicing specialists. Physicians and pharmacists who successfully complete the registration will receive monthly bonuses of 7 million soms, while nurses will be granted 3.5 million soms in additional payments.
Furthermore, the reforms introduce strict performance indicators (KPIs) tied to patient satisfaction, organizational updates for specialized medical centers, and the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into diagnostics across several regional departments starting in 2027.
