In Kyrgyzstan's Batken region, a large-scale reinforcement of the state border with Tajikistan is planned. By 2026, approximately 200 kilometers of engineering barriers will be constructed here. Considering the situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan, security measures will be strengthened and service readiness enhanced.

The decision was made at a meeting of the operational headquarters chaired by the Chairman of the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan, Abdikarim Alimbayev, and the presidential envoy in the region, Aybek Shamenov. Participants discussed the progress of work and approved the construction schedule.

According to the plan, 65 kilometers will be installed in Batken district and 135 kilometers in Leilek district this year.

Last year, engineering structures were already built on a section about 150 kilometers long. Heads of relevant departments have been instructed to ensure timely and high-quality task completion, as well as coordination of actions at all stages.

Additionally, efforts to detect illegal transportation have been intensified. In high-risk zones, control will be tightened, with measures taken to prevent damage to barriers and ensure the preservation of new infrastructure.
