Several U.S. fighter jets crashed in Kuwait amid the ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Israel with Iran. A spokesperson for the country's defense ministry reported on March 2 that all crew members ejected, survived, and were taken to hospitals. Their condition is stable, and the cause of the incident is under investigation.

Later, U.S. military officials stated that three F-15E aircraft were mistakenly shot down by Kuwait's air defense system.

Meanwhile, the Iranian army announced strikes on the U.S. Ali al-Salem airbase in Kuwait and ships in the northern Indian Ocean. Tehran said the attacks were in response to the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei from U.S. and Israeli strikes.

Earlier that morning, smoke was seen near the U.S. embassy in the capital after air raid sirens, with firefighters and medics arriving at the scene, Reuters reported citing witnesses. The U.S. diplomatic mission has not confirmed a strike. According to AFP, smoke was also observed over a power plant in northern Kuwait, and debris fell on the Mina al-Ahmadi oil refinery, injuring two workers.

A separate incident occurred in Bahrain: the country's interior ministry reported that debris from an intercepted missile fell on a ship in a port area near the capital Manama, causing a fire. One worker died, and two others were seriously injured.
