The Zaamin District Court has concluded a case concerning a fatal traffic accident that resulted in the death of a two-year-old boy. The incident occurred last summer in the Zaamin district of Jizzakh region. Investigation revealed that the driver, while reversing his vehicle, failed to notice the child and hit him. Instead of contacting emergency services, the man moved the victim's body to his property and left it under a tree.

The search for the child lasted two weeks. Ultimately, the boy's body was found in a mountainous area near the village of Uriklisoy. Investigators established the driver's involvement in the incident and subsequent concealment of the child's death.

The defendant's actions were classified under two articles of the Criminal Code: Article 117, Part 2 ("Abandonment in danger resulting in death") and Article 266, Part 2 ("Violation of traffic safety rules resulting in death"). The court sentenced the 31-year-old man, who worked as a paramedic at the "Zaamin" sanatorium, to seven years of imprisonment to be served in a colony-settlement. Additionally, he was deprived of the right to drive vehicles for three years.
