A child was electrocuted by high-voltage electricity at a kindergarten in Fergana, Uzbekistan. The incident has sparked widespread public concern and drawn the attention of authorities.
According to Uzbekistan's Children's Ombudsman, the prosecutor's office is investigating the case. Preliminary information indicates that serious harm to the child's health resulted from negligence by responsible individuals.
"Due to the inaction of responsible persons, serious harm was caused to the child's health, and at the request of the Children's Ombudsman, the prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation," the statement said.
The Oliy Majlis Commissioner for Children's Rights has taken control of the case. Additional details will be provided following the investigation.
Previously, it was reported that in 2025, 19 criminal and 26 administrative cases were initiated based on direct appeals to the Children's Ombudsman, with monitoring of online violations adding 23 criminal and 28 administrative proceedings.
