During the talk, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's words of solidarity with the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia were conveyed in connection with the escalation of the regional situation. The sides discussed in detail the current tensions in the Middle East and their potential impact on global security and economic stability.
The dialogue focused on the need for conflict de-escalation and measures to strengthen mutual trust. The foreign ministers emphasized the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region. The conversation took place amid reports of attacks on Saudi Aramco's oil infrastructure and restrictions on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
In discussing the regional agenda, the sides addressed security of transport corridors and protection of citizens' interests. Uzbekistan reaffirmed its commitment to diplomatic resolution of emerging crises and continued close cooperation with partners in the Gulf countries. Previously, Bakhtiyor Saidov held a series of emergency telephone negotiations with counterparts from Middle Eastern countries and Azerbaijan.
