An explosion occurred in an apartment building in Kokand, Fergana Region, on February 25. The Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that a criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident.

The fire was reported at 14:47. Rescue teams extinguished the blaze, but initial reports indicated no information on casualties.

Later, during cleanup operations, the body of one individual was found. According to the investigation, a 19-year-old resident died due to being crushed by a concrete slab. No other injuries have been reported.

The Investigation Unit of the 2nd Territorial District of the Fergana Region MIA opened a criminal case under Part 2, Article 259 of the Criminal Code (violation of fire safety rules resulting in death). Deputy Minister Ramazon Ashropov formed an investigative-operational group and issued instructions for necessary measures.
